Sweet stuff, even the accordion!

"I despise "smooth" jazz because it is too often bland, depressing, and mediocre. On the other hand, I find straight-ahead and bebop jazz to be uptight, frenetic, and stressful. What's a girl to do? Fortunately, I've discovered Gil Goldstein's music, which appeals very much to my tastes in that it is an excellent "fusion" of all kinds of cool things, from instrumentation (electric and acoustic) to music genres, yet the music remembers at all times that it is JAZZ. It's interesting, it's bright, sometimes reflective, sometimes downright cheery -- no morose or confused or melancholy stuff here. The NICE thing about this album is that Goldstein makes wonderful use of his accordion, giving the music a kind of European flavor. Very nice."
