AS GOOD THEN AS HE IS NOW!

"One thing about George Strait in retrospective is that it's difficult to hear much change in his early music and his current offerings. It's almost like he hit the road running and has never slowed down. Some have accused him of having too many songs. Funny. Mozart had the same problem in his day and I suspect, from a Country Western standpoint, that we will be listening to George Strait music for decades after he is gone. While STRAIT FROM THE HEART is one of George Strait's earliest albums it is as listenable today as it was when it climbed the charts with such classic hits as FOOL HEARTED MEMORY, MARINA DEL RAY and AMARILLO BY MORNING. Whether you're new to Strait's music or an old fan like me, STRAIT FROM THE HEART will become a favorite.Douglas McAllister"
George Strait's Best Complete Album

"Other than legends such as Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, most country artists have always been more about putting out hit singles rather than cohesive albums that are consistently good from beginning to end. George Strait is no exception to the rule. This disc, however, features the strongest material of Strait's stellar career, and there is little, if any, filler on it at all

Though the album is loaded with early hits such as "Amarillo By Morning," "Fool-Hearted Memory," "Marina del Rey," and "A Fire I Can't Put Out," there are at least three other songs on it that could easily have been Top Ten records: "I Can't See Texas From Here," "Heartbroke," and my personal all-time favorite Strait track, "Honky-Tonk Crazy." "Steal Of The Night" and "Lover In Disguise" don't have the same kind of power next to the other tracks, but they are good nonetheless.

This is a young, hungry George Strait at his best: raw, pure honky-tonk from a gifted performer. An essential recording for any Strait fan."
One of the best albums

"Strait from the heart is a classic, this I think personally is the album the boasted George Straits country music career. It contains some of his greatest songs ever. Amarillo by morning is even on this one which is a classic. A fire I cant put out is on it. And it contains his first number one hit Fool hearted memory. Marina del ray is one of the other reasons why to buy it. The real stealer here may not be the classics it may be the album songs really, if you love George Strait music then you will really love Honky tonk crazy, and a song which could have easily been a hit The only thing I have left also own one the rare self written songs that George Strait wrote himself I cant see texas from here, and own not to familar classics like Lover in disguise, and Heartbroke. Every song on the album could have been country hits. If you had to pick one weak song on the album you could pick Steal of the night its not bad or anything its catchy but its not a usual George Strait song. All I can say is the whole album is a masterpiece of George Straits music career it would be impossible for a George Strait lover of music to miss this one."
