CD Reviews

Good solid instrumentals but lacking good song
Jay Manaway | 11/02/1999

"I really enjoyed listening this CD, but it left out a song that was in the movie- "I Want What I Want" by Lauren Christie. Leaving that out was a no-no....otherwise pretty good, though."
A Great Buy And A Great Listen

"I Just bought this soundtrack yesterday and i have finished it already. First of all George S. Clinton has created a fitting theme with this film first of all it suits the setting of the music down in the bayou in flordia. But what i like the most is the Main Title which is a very unique track. If you loved this movie as much as i did then i would go out and buy it."
One of the best CDs of recent times

"This is probably the most under-appreciated movie soundtrack of the last ten years. The music lifted the movie from merely "pretty good" to "very good," and the CD is flawlessly produced. On a good stereo system, it sounds like George Clinton is right there in your listening room! If you listen carefully, at one point you'll hear a few bars of the music from Alfred Hitchcock's "Vertigo" -- a sly hint that the movie itself is closely patterned on Hitch's favorite theme of the ordinary man caught in a web of deception. A truly excellent disc; its only flaw is that it's too short. As others have noted, some of the music used in the soundtrack does not appear on the CD, and I have to wonder why. Oh, well, it's still a great CD. Rent the movie first and then buy the soundtrack!"
