CD Reviews

It's an insult to call him a diamond in the ruff.

"I grew up on bands like Earth Wind and Fire and the Ohio Players. I loved jazz too. This guy was my favorite though. His influences spanned R&B, Rock and Roll and classic jazz. In the seventies and eighties his music was on fire. It was a combination of all the genres he'd already "mastered" in the music business but was most seductivley and "movingly"- if it must be labled- Funky R&B (spot me some jazz and a dash of rock and roll though). "Master Of The Game" was my second dip into this man's artform. It's Probably my favorite (I don't know, George has a lot of very special stuff) I'm finally repalacing my vinyl version of "Master Of The Game" with it's digital incarnation. "Try Don't Let Go", and "Brazilian Love Affair". If you already know him and wonder if he still has "the touch" get "After Hours". Trust me, You'll feel it."
George Duke-Master Of Diversity!

""Master Of The Game" is filled with many hard-edged funky
moments such as the latin groove of "Look What You Find",the
slamming P-Funk of "Games" and the elongated "The Alien"and the Carribean flavored instrumental jam "Dog Man".But George Duke mixes it all up too on the Earth,Wind & Fire sounding smooth groove "Every Little Step I Take",the dancable, modern R&B of "I Want You For Myself" and the commercial-sounding but fun
pop of "I Love You More".A great album, filled with great hooks
and loops for modern-day DJ's and samplers and ideal for
casual listening because,as always,Duke always gets the job done!"

"this is a very good CD

but to call games P-FUNK (Andre' S Grindle "Funk Meister" Bangor,ME.) makes me wonder if he remembers what the P in P-FUNK means. games is good but it aint P-FUNK. MR.Duke is beyond discription talented beyond words.

he has better stuff(wont let go) but you wont be disapointed.

his early stuff shows his real talent

he can also hang a degree in music on his wall next to his gold albums.this man is damn good see him if he comes your way"
