Self-Help for the Semi-Interested...
Shade | Oklahoma City, OK | 10/14/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

""On the Road," originally released in 1977, is not as knock-down drag-out funny as some of Carlin's material, but is as intelligent and observant as anything he's been responsible for.A thirteen-minute monologue covers the subject of death, for instance. Great observation: you've never been as popular as when you die: all those flowers... just a little too late...This will make you laugh, often because they are sad truths he's releasing upon us. He has the human condition down pretty well on this one.If you're a fan of self-help audio, try this for when you want to learn something, but in a more casual way. He's at least 70% per cent as on-target as, say, a Dr. Wayne W. Dyer. And he's funnier. This is a thinking guy's stuff here."
Classic Carlin

"This is a rather underrated and obscure edition to Carlin's catalogue, but it's a great one. It's really just a lot of logic that packs some good laughs. More focus on observations and commentary than straight ahead comedy, but it's much funnier than some of his goofy stuff. It's actually a lot like his 90's material only more laid back."
Funny!

"I can't believe how calm he is. I love both sides of Carlin, new and old. But this is his true masterpiece. He gets on big topics such as Death and Kids, plus he does completly goofy stuff like Headlines and his talk on dogs. Just hilarious!"
