CD ReviewsFans of soulful contemporary Klezmer jazz, take note! Mary Hoffmann Hunt | Hancock, Michigan | 02/13/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "I played this album so often it wore out. Now that I just bought an I-Pod, I'll buy another and make it even more a part of my life. The music is so moving and elemental in an oddly familiar way, it makes me wonder if Jewish music is somehow part of my genetic scripting. (Come to think of it, there's a good chance that my mysterious, quiet German immigrant grandfather actually was Jewish!)
The other thing that's wonderful about Jeff's music is how it reflects his own roots in Detroit, a great music city, and its African-American jazz tradition as exemplified in Marcus Belgrave, one of his musical collaborators. Thanks, Jeff! - Mary Hoffmann Hunt, Hancock, Michigan" |
