Synopsis

Product Description

This CD is easy listening jazz featuring piano, bass and drums. The songs are mostly originals with a mix of jazz waltz, latin and swing. It's in the spirit of Vince Guaraldi from "A Charlie Brown Christmas" fame. There are also a couple lovely vocal selections on standard tunes and one even includes a Brazilian style accordion solo. Overall, it's happy music to make you SMILE!

Brunotte is a former faculty member of Berklee College of Music. This is his third CD. Here's a quote from JazzTimes Magazine about his first CD:

Gary Brunotte will definitely make you "Smile"

""Smile" is a piano trio album of mostly original tunes (with vocals added to 2 songs). This is the kind of sound that I seek out when I go to hear live music, so I am absolutely delighted with this addition to my collection.

Right away I noticed the tight work between bass and piano, playing as one, reading each other's thoughts, almost as if the bass were being played by Gary's left hand (or pedals on an organ). The drumming is pleasantly understated, subtle, decorative, yet definitely part of the scene. There are no pretensions on this album, just solid tasty music.
