Great Music for Fans of The Band, Late-60's Stones, and CSNY

"Few people have heard this great album, and if you do, you'll be blown away. Lead singer-songwriter Garland Jeffreys, who eventually went on to a successful solo career, powers the twangy tracks with rich vocals that sound like Jagger. The feel is definitely The Band circa 1970, with country overtones that remind you of Credence, CSNY, and the Eagles. Jeffreys songs are catchy, memorable, and carefully crafted. It's great to see that Vanguard has re-released this fine lost album. Jeffreys is one of those 1970's-early 1980's musicians who has been lost in the vinyl-to-CD conversion, and fans should rush to buy Jeffreys great albus like ESCAPE ARTIST and BUCKWHEAT which have made it to CD. The first album from a great NYC rock n' roller!"
