"Grotesque spawned At the Gates, the godfathers of the Gothenburg sound. This early compilation rumbles magnificiently from track one to track fifteen, a lengthy CD in the world of fast and furious metal; this should be twice as long. Crisp licks, intricate harmony and vicious vocals only hint at the great things to come from this group, whose current configuration forms the core of The Haunted. If you are reading this review, you are curious about Gothenburg/Scandinavian metal and you WILL LOVE this album. Own it, and praise the Grand Demon."
