IT'S NOT SO BAD!

"So many people have been saying bad things about "Androgyny". I think it's a great song. Sure Garbage has never sounded so "pop" until this album, but that doesn't matter. I really do like the sound of Androgyny even though I don't listen to much pop. The message in the lyrics is really good too. It's like many songs by Garbage; the more you listen to it the more it grows on you. You really should listen for yourself. The song "Begging Bone" is great too. It's one of those many Garbage B-sides that should've been on the album. It sounds more like Garbage than many of the Beautiful Garbage tracks. This one song is reason enough to buy the single."
Decadent, vague, and intriguing

"Androgyny, the first single from Garbage's third LP, Beautiful Garbage, finds garbage exploring the diamond-sparkle of 80's pop while retaining their sense of musical adventurousness. Manson takes a surprising turn, while hitting high notes that were rarely found on Garbage's first two albums. The music at first is frighteningly reminiscent of the mundane mainstream, but the genius of Garbage, their masterful production, soon kicks in. The song is full of subtle twists.
Begging Bone, like most Garbage b-sides, is clearly of less quality. Its best attribute is its schizophrenia.
Felix da Housecat delivers again with his electro-dirt rendition of Androgyny, turning shirley into a droning simpletext character and destroying the listener with the weight of his quitar loop.
The single is worth getting for the Felix remix alone, but Garbage's original will attract more attention."
