CD Reviews

I really wanted this new ggd release to deliver...
Mr. Aaron H. Levine | tallahassee, florida United States | 11/23/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"and saint dymphna is a decent album. the song lengths are shorter and the compositions are more condensed so you basically get more bang for your buck, though the ggd style shines through in all its new age world breakbeat twitter rock glory. a guest vocalist appears on 'princes', a grime dancehall guy which is ok, but there are some quieter, slower moments on the album, although the classic ggd flourishes have always been the attraction for me. this album provides something new from ggd that is familiar but developed in a good direction. also try 'gods money' and 'revival of the $hittest' if you can find it."
Psychedelic music

"saint dymphna is a beautiful psychedelic album, i think it's the best album of GGD, the music is the best i heard this all-year, i wait for "merryweather post pavillion" from animal collective, what else ? nothing, bands such as everything between sigur ros, radiohead, tv on the radio and metronomy are good but they can't fight between GGD and animal collective, it's enough i think, that is just an opinion, my opinion ok thankxx see you next time"
Top notch

"this crept up to potential all-time favorite status. once you get used to SD, get into the older material if you haven't already - so out there... experimental vibes, but less and less pop-like as you go back in time - real auditory art!"
