CD ReviewsMore fun than a duct tape shark! Steven J. Schultz | Nowhere of consequence | 10/08/2007 (4 out of 5 stars) "This CD has been a prized possession of mine for many years. The music presented therein is what Mr Bungle's 'California' album would've sounded like if it had come out in 1973. I kid you not. Bowie-esque, swaggering rock ("Legendary Spaceman"); freak-out blues ("Rose"); post-Ornette Coleman sax squonk ("Woo Yeah"); film noir soundtrack ("Something in Here" and "Gigantor"); BÖC-inspired metal weirdness ("Sleep", "Slowworm", "Speedfische"); red-neck KingCrimson mutations ("Truck" and "Greg Ginn Body Bag"); among some other gems. The production is warm and totally analog, very nice. The musicianship is world class, especially Kevin Rose's guitar playing. Excellent ambience for drinking PBR with yer roustabout friends, or for serious cruisin' in yer '75 El Camino." FAR OUT Music maniac | chicago Il | 01/01/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "This record was a pleasant suprise! I have heard about GAM's legendary live shows, but have always missed them. This album is a psychedelic funhouse in the most punk sense of the word. Self produced and full of sonic treats. The sound is eclectic, reading almost like a best of album. Maybe a bit too long, but VERY GOOD!"
