Synopsis

Product Description
It is becoming increasingly apparent to American citizens that government is no longer being conducted in accordance with the U.S. or state Constitutions. Despite the historical recognition that the rich and powerful often corrupt, or exert undue influence to favor their interests, most Americans still cling to the naive belief that such corruption is exceptional. Mounting evidence makes it clear that the situation is far worse than most people think. In recent decades the U.S. Constitution has been effectively overthrown, and that it is now observed only as a facade to deceive and placate the masses. What has replaced it is what many call the Shadow Government. Started as the brain child of Joel Anderson (Tornavalanche, Ten Grand) and Luke Tweedy after the untimely end of Ten Grand, ft (the Shadow Government) have added a slew of friends and former band mates to become the quintessential "Midwest" band comprised of members living in Iowa City, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Chicago. For lack of a single town to call home, ft (the Shadow Government) functions as a dream team who do not let distance hinder their efforts. Anderson and Tweedy are joined by Whitney Teska (Forstella Ford, Tornavlanche), Pete Biasi of (Signal To Trust, Falcon Crest, Total Fucking Blood & Superhopper) and John Crawford. They are a hard band to pin down musically with elements of rock, noise and post-punk, with no particular sound to reference.
