FRED TRAVALENA, Comedian-Impressionist/Singer-Songwriter, has written an album of 11 original Christmas songs dedicated to the City of Manhattan. A native New Yorker and a lover of Manhattan especially during Christmas, FREDs favorite time of year, he was inspired as a new song-writer several years ago and wrote the song Christmas In Manhattan. The song got immediate airplay on KISS-FM Los Angeles, KGIL, and all of the Music Of your Life Stations around the countryover 168 stations. Inspired by the reaction to his first Christmas song, FRED TRAVALENA gave himself a challenge to write 10 more original Christmas songs for New York City. All the songs on the new CD vary in styles, N-Sync or Back-Street Boys contemporary feel. Then came a waltz, Christmas In Old New York with the vision of Christmas at the turn of the century. A Latin contemporary love song, Manhattan Love Affair At Christmas, with distant horns and guitars reflecting an unexpected love affair during the Holidays in New York City. A Swing selection in the tradition of Benny Goodman/Manhattan Transfer describing Christmas On Broadway. As the album progressed and the songs kept coming, Fred composed Lady Manhattan a lovely ballad, the cornerstone of lushly produced CD beauty and power of this great city. Lady Manhattan produced with lush strings and vocal backgrounds sophisticated lyrics that give the LADY her due recognition as the premier City in the world. With more than five songs written for New York City, the CD qualified as a Musical Suite. Thus the title, THE MANHATTAN CHRISTMAS SUITE. With musical arrangements by arrangers Dennis Michaels, Jim Barnett, and Darryl Kennedy, an all-original holiday album has been written, produced and performed by, FRED TRAVALENAeleven original songs written for New York City.
