CD Reviews

Vinyl sound on Cd!
Stephen Buggy | Limerick, Ireland | 08/30/2002
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This Cd Box set is great value for your money, although the cd's are not digitally remastered, it is actually a benefit. Its a benefit because the music on most of the CDs is taken from 78rpm discs and the sound quality is that of a vinyl records. This alone gives you an enchanted musical experience that makes you feel as if your living in the era of swing and easy listening. the sound is mellow and not too sharp. The band has that Glenn Miller sound that captures you and sends you into a world of croon and class!
Many of the songs are rare recordings and alternate versions it is a pleasant change from the Capitol and Reprise recordings that sound the same time and time again. The set is perfect for a night of peaceful partying with a JD on the rocks in one hand and a cigarette in the other with close friends."
