Nostalgic score from director/writer/composer

"There are very few writer/director/composers out there - John Carpenter is the only other example I can think of. Frank Laloggia's independent, nostalgic little ghost story has many fans, and its great that his score was released on this excellent CD. All of the music contained within the film is here - utilizing a small orchestra, an adult and children's choir and a smattering of electronics - arranged into three long (the average running time of the tracks is 20 mins) suites. There's themes galore - sad, beautiful, haunting, and even action cues. Sometimes the orchestrations are simplistic, but that's to be expected from a first-time composer. The CD also contains the original "rough sketches" Laloggia composed for two-thirds of the final suite on synthesizer - not exactly easy listening, but interesting. There's an extensive amount of excellent CD-ROM features, including photos and interviews with the composer. Overall, this is an excellent package for all those who love this film and it's music. However, fans should note that if they buy the director's cut DVD (throughly recommended), they will find that the contents of this album (minus the rough sketches) are included as a separate audio track - bargain!"
