"In the midst of the clamorous noise and electrified cacophony of what is referred to today as "Christian" music it is gratifying to find a soothing balm of Gilead. Producer Ron Block's craft on acoustic instruments and in the art of songwriting is consistently evident through his duties with Alison Krauss. On this CD, he and his Union Station buddies have taken a sabbatical to provide the Forbes Family with a smooth Bluegrass background to their tight harmonies and impeccable phrasings. The music is, as expected, exemplary. But the treasure in this trove is the biblical orthodoxy of the lyrics. So much of what is written today is not only too loud but also theologically flawed. The Forbes Family, Ron Block, Union Station, and Rebel Records have provided us a grand slam. They have merged doctrinally accurate lyrics (anyone can nitpick), presented by a top quartet (whose members convey a confidence in their eternal future without boasting), and seamlessly crafted Bluegrass music (by the genre's number one group), into Rebel's technically perfect package. In the Shadow of Your Wings is a welcomed refuge in which to rest one's soul after a day of navigating a path between a cosmic Scylla and a cultural Charybdis."

"As a french bluegrass Gospel fan I have been amazed by the quality of harmonies and music of this group. I bought all other CDs of the Forbes Family but did not find the same level in christian lyrics, musicians ( Ron Block and others Union Station's musicians are top ) and songs. Their best CD by far. I'm still waiting for the next one."
