CD Reviews

Very romantic feel..nice CD
Scott Rodriguez | Lakewood, CO United States | 03/11/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"The guitars remind me of Entwine, Lacuna Coil, and HIM (crunchy), but a lot more melodic and romantic. I definitely loved this on the first listen, and it's only getting better. I think Thomas from nightwish is in this band, and it seems to show, because the songwriting is very good. Any fans of gothic romance metal will love this - I think it's much better than Lacuna Coil and others just because of the different elements. Female vocals...keys...catchy riffs...etc etc. Check it out!"
A great sound

"After listening albums like nightwish, lacuna coil, opeth , I had the luck to listen this debut album. It has a lot of feel, excelent instrumentals and a very gothic voice. You must have this one."
Solid - Five Stars

"I am ever so impressed with the musicians of Finland. So it's no surprise that For My Pain has put out a phenomenal album.Fallen is a debut album for these guys but believe me, they are no beginners. The six members of For My Pain are journeyman musicians having played with the likes of Nightwish, Eternal Tears of Sorrow etc.Fallen consists of ten, count them, out of ten wonderful songs, melodic and overflowing with hooks. The music is heavy from a guitar and rhythm perspective but the keyboards by Nightwish's Tuomas Holopainen and the female singing and backing singing along with pleasant vocalist stylings of Juha Kylmanen, seem to mitigate against the heaviness to provide a nice even keeled presentation that is really quite accessible. This is an album with no filler that I could detect. It's a winner and a solid five stars."
