CD Reviews

Easily the best rock single of 2007
Josh Irby | Syracuse, NY | 10/18/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

""The Pretender" is amazing... it grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go for 4 minutes. Easily their hardest rocking single since "Monkey Wrench" which, coincidentally, appears in video form on this single (just put it into the computer). It's a live recording from a few years back, from a show at Hyde Park.

The other two tracks on the single are "Come Alive (Demo)" and "If Ever." "Come Alive" sounds very similar to the studio version that's featured on the album, except it's a bit rougher here. "If Ever" is worth it for the single alone... a really beautiful love song that still rocks.

If you can get this for 5 or 6 bucks, go for it."
Get it for "If Ever"

"If you can't get enough Foo Fighters, you need to buy this now. The song, "If Ever" is a great song, that is if you enjoy a nice ballad as much as I do. And although I have yet to hear Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, I think it should have been included on the album. I actually like it better than "The Pretender.""
