VENTING On Stage
Jack | Troy, OH USA | 11/13/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"*4.5 Stars*.......While a live album seems a little 'unnecessary' after just one studio album, it was a welcome release to help keep us Five Bolt Main fans occupied until they release another album (if they do that is). Overall the sound quality on this recording sounds a little muddy and raw, however that is to be expected since they were not performing in a large arena with a good sound system. It is also a shame that the songs "Bid Farewell", "Breathing", "Descending" and "Life Of Mine" were not included, but for the songs that you do get here, it was a satisfying set. Personally I think their performance of "Seem To Be Fine" as well as the awesome acoustic cover of Flaw's "Only The Strong" were the album's highlights. Of course it is also worth mentioning that the new song called "Just My Luck" sounds like it would be a promising inclusion on a follow-up album (however it's future is now uncertain since rumors have began popping up and stating that Flaw is now getting back together to record a new album....which, in my opinion, would be fantastic!). If you buy LIVE without expecting a top quality concert recording though then it provides an interesting experience to hear how Five Bolt Main transfers their great songs off of their debut album VENTING onto the stage."
