CD Reviews

Huge Disapointment
Scottie Bon | Indiana, United States | 10/28/2006
(2 out of 5 stars)

"I am a huge fan of D.E.; Planet Zero, Damn That D.E!, and The Big Black Bat are some of my favorite albums of all time. And I don't only listen to rap, I listen to practically all genres of music and have a massive collection. With the release of Look Me In My Face, Though; I had minor disapointment, but it was still a good release. I thought, "Surely D.E. will come back with a classic after the mediocre previous release." I don't know what happened. This is a faaaar worse release than "LMINF,T". I have tried, and tried.......and tried again to listen to this cd and let it grow on me, but to no avail. This is simply put a bad cd. What happened D.E.? There is only 4 songs on here that I have the slightist desire to ever listen to again. The siccest beat on here is completely wasted! D.E. could have ripped this track apart and I can't for the life of me fathom why he didn't. (Listen to "That's Why I Hate You" and you will understand.) Underground Power is the standout track, but even on that song the Lynch lyrics, while great, are re-used from a track of off The New Season. Bland lyrics, bad beats, and you won't even get any laughs like from many previous D.E. ventures. I can't believe I'm saying this about the D.E., it's taken a lot of thought and attempts to enjoy this album. I don't know if all the weed has finally got to him or what, there is just a huge lack of creativity on this one. I have hope for future D.E. stuff even though this one was a shock."
