Good Introduction to Fila Brzillia

(4 out of 5 stars)

"I just recently discovered Fila Brazillia, and I was pleasantly surprised. After hearing a track from Om Lounge 2 I went searching for more of their music. Unfortunately, their albums are VERY hard to find. It took me about a week to find any Fila records, and this was the only one the record shop had. This is a great album. It is very mellow and atmospheric. It's hard to belive that Fila Brazillia is not a household name like K&D or Theivery Corporation. The songs flow so smoothly you'll never know when one song ends and another begins. If you are into stoney chill music, get this one."

"If you like relaxing ambient music that's invigorating at the same time this is the CD. I like this album so much. You can listen to this album no matter what mood your in it just kind of melds itself to your present existence. I know I'm getting wierd but it's true.Fila delivers one smooth luscious track after another. My favorite track is 'Butter My Mask' which starts out with a very ambient loop sequence that transitions into a tight drum & bass song. Give this one a try, you owe it to yourself."
Outstanding, if a touch too repetitive

"Monkey Radio, the online music radio station, first introduced me to Fila Brazillia, Kruder & Dorfmeister, and a lot of other great acid/downtempo/groovyfunkyshagedelic groups. I knew one song on this album - Wigs, Bifocals, and Sustenance - and that's all that I wanted the album for. The song is that funky to me.As someone else said, The Big Dipper was one of their favorite songs. I think most people into this type of music will find one of the tracks on here to be practically essential. Personally, I feel a couple of the tunes are a little too repetitive, namely (sorry to the previous reviewer) Blubber Plinth and Obrigado. However, as a whole, this is still awesome background music for a party, for yourself, or for a night of a little romance. I'd give it 4.5 stars, but because Wigs, Bifocals is on it, it has to be rounded up!"
