CD Reviews

Good, but not XLS good
Robert L. Eichler Jr. | Hummelstown, PA United States | 02/03/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I bought Isms because of the X-Legged Sally connection.

XLS is one of my all-time favorite bands, so when I found

out about Flat Earth Society, I had to hear it. The Isms

CD is good, very good in places, but it's not quite up to

XLS standards. The similarities are there, but it's just

not the quite the same insanely energetic, precise, bizzare,

Zappa-influenced big band jazz. But if you've heard X-Legged

Sally and liked them, then Isms is worth the purchase. You

should enjoy it - just don't get your hopes up to high."
