Clifford Adams is an important addition to the resurrection of the trombone." -WYNTON MARSALIS While Clifford Adams is well known to audiences for his long-time tenure with Kool & The Gang, his musical roots reside in the fertile soil of jazz. In 1973, Adams was part of the horn section for The Stylistics? world tour. He then embarked on a two-year stint with the world famous Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band and, after playing with Duke Ellington?s Orchestra, toured Europe with Max Roach. This strong musical repertoire attracted Kool & The Gang in 1977, and it continues to delight contemporary audiences around the globe! As a charter member of Kool & The Gang, Clifford Adams has received countless civic awards, numerous commercial endorsements, and been honored with Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, People?s Choice Awards, and Soul Train Awards.
