"I haven't seen such a shoddy reissue in some time. Every track with the exception of "I'm Walkin" sounds dipped in crud.... But worst offense of all is to those looking for the 1956 landmaark release "This is Fats" ----this release is an outright lie by the scumbags at Collectible Records. They obviously couldn't get the licensing to the original release, then couldn't get access to even the right songs off other compilations....and finally cobbled together a set that shares almost nothing with the original release. Where's "Blueberry Hill" --- THE LEAD OFF TRACK ---- for G*** SAKE?????



Ordinarily I would say any Fats is better than no Fats, but wait till you hear both the dreadful sound quality and the B and C tier tracks assembled here.



"This is Fats" is listed in many top 100/top 1000 lists for a good reason. For Collectible to claim they're selling the original Imperial version and then supplying this chunk of dung is on the caliber of selling someone a tape of Miles Davis excerpts in place of "Kind of Blue.""

"This is one of three excellent packages the folks at COLLECTABLES have put together featuring THE FAT MAN...Cuts 1 thru 12 are from the "HERE STANDS FATS DOMINO"album (1958). These cuts are from his early sessions 1952 -1955 and all are excellent Fats material. Cuts 13 thru 26 are from his 1958 album "THIS IS FATS"...Domino fans will love "My Happiness", (The Instrumental) "As time goes by", "Valley Of Tears" and two bonus tracks, "I want to walk you home" and "Little Mary"...This package is a must for Fats Domino fans."
