CD Reviews

Recycling of Divorce Leftovers-it could have been brilliant
caipirina7 | Hoboken, NJ United States | 01/23/2001
(3 out of 5 stars)

"This record is very nice, but a slight dissapointment. A) technically I expected more from Sunaga (the DJ who did the alleged live mix). The songs are combined un-originally, just simply glued together, not even some nice phase mixing. Having heard FPM DJing himself several times and knowing his abilities, this CD has a bitter taste to it. The few thrown-in original "interludes" are 11 second scratch and break jokes. B) FPM left the Readymade label, so now Readymade does a sell out of material they have the copyrights on. And they also have to release it 1.5 months before a new original FPM album comes out (on Avex). Not a very fair move. If you love FPM and you have the extra 30odd bucks, get it ... but rather wait for the new album "beautiful" to be released domestically by emperor norton. One good thing: the packaging is very nice: a pocket book size cardboard box with familiar design. The only picture inside shows not Tanaka-san, but Konishi Yasuharu, owner of the Readymade label and head of Pizzicato 5. Funny, ain't it ??"
