CD Reviews

Fancy's most popular album
Max Levin | 07/05/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

""Flames of Love" is Fancy's famous record, this is probably the reason why it's the only album which was released before the 90-s and can still be found. Back in mid-eighties Fancy was one of the most popular neo-disco artists. If you enjoy music by Modern Talking, Bad Boys Blue or Silent Circle, then you will enjoy Fancy. This particular record lacks smashing hits, such as "Lady Of Ice" or "Bolero" that would stand out by themself, however it leaves a pleasant overall impression unlike previous albums, where you would buy a record only for the sake of two or three tracks. The last track, "China Blue" is a must on any Fancy "Greatest Hits" collection. The album in itself is 5 stars, but I would leave the megamix at the end off, because I don't see a point in sticking a collection of carelessly stuck together patches from pre-"Flames Of Love" megahits on this present-day classic album. I would much rather prefer to see the entire discography published on CDs.If anybody knows how to obtain other Fancy's albums recorded before 1990, please let me know: DorianTyrrell@hotmail.com."

"A Third album from Fancy from 1988 (he's got a total of about 10 albums by now).
IOP This Album is a Must have for any Music Collection.Every Song on this CD is at Least Good, with most of them being GREAT +++. They are all very Catchy and have Nice dance Beats, with Fancy's Tender yet Masculine Vocals. And Most songs here are Very Romantic. My favorite Tracks here are the More Romantic ones. These include: "Flames Of Love" - Can Hardly put the Beauty of this Song into Words"Moscow's Calling" - Very Very Nostalgic and Melodic Song, with Great Instrumental Part; Fancy here draws a Comparison between a Woman and City of Moscow (former capital of USSR). Did I mention it's Beautiful?"China Blue" - IOP the Best Song on this Album, it's Simply Heavenly, in every way Possible. One must hear it to Understand its Beauty."Blue Eyed Lady" and "Spy In the Night" are also 2 Great Songs."What's Your Name,", "Bodyguard" and "Tonight The Devil Wins My Soul" IOP are more of Fun Dance Tracks. They are still Great, but not as Great as the others that I mentioned above. There is also an 8 minute Turbo Mix of a couple of Fancy's past hits (from his 2 previous albums, which BTW a Hard to find on CD). It's a Teaser, and it contains a small Excerpt from his Megahit "Bolero (Hold Me In Your Arms Again)", another song with Beauty Beyond Human Words.Overall, This is a Great Album, and IOP Deserves to be in Everyone's CD Collection.Enjoy and Thank You."
