CD Reviews

Get it

"Must have for any fall fan. contains several songs not on any studio album and better versions of some that are, for instance this version of prole art threat is a killer and the man whos head expanded is brilliant - and to the guy who wrote that the album skips, that's what I thought at first, but it's on purpose! You're talking about the man whose head expanded, right? Count the beats and you'll see that the rhythm of the song is preserved - I think maybe they actually played it that way on stage. If you're not a fall fan, what can I say, give it a chance. Maybe Palace of Swords Reversed would be a better introduction though."
Amazing early live album

"I had read the reviews here before I finally decided to buy the CDs. One of the reviewers had warned about the recording - he said the CD had been recorded from an LP and it would skip and crackle. When I got the CDs I was amazed about how good the sound actually is. And as far as I can tell, you can only tell from the intro of "Hip Priest" that it was recorded from an LP. Don't get discouraged to buy the CDs as I did! This is the best early live recording of The Fall - I have all the other ones, and this one has the best sound, and the band is very good!PS: Well, yeah, the album does skip occasionally and I don't think that's intended. Doesn't really matter. It's The Fall."
Essential for Fall fans - unless you have the LP

"This re-release 'features' the vinyl artifacts we've come to expect from recent Fall re-leases... If you don't have In a Hole in another release/format, or if you want it to sound like it's taped from a well-used LP, get this."
