This collection represents the guitar as a sound object--to me a metamorphosis of the standard approach to guitar as a stringed,melodic instrument. Chadbourne uses reverberation,percussion,harmonics,musique concrete etc. to create a very open, contemplative approach to rethinking the creative possibilities of the guitar.
