Synopsis

Album Description
Culled from recordings over a four-year period, the music has an acoustic based, rustic flavor drawing from sources like folk, country and bluegrass, but set in a contemporary rock format. That bluegrass feel is apparent on the opener, "Not Too Far Away", with its mandolin and banjo textures. The plaintive "Where I Long To Be" features sweet violins. Some diversity comes by the way of "Mad Piper" where organs and wah-wah guitar reveal a more classic rock feel. The easy going "Times Like These" is a bit more orchestrated, moving through several passages, including one with a late sixties Brian Wilson vibe. A female voice complements Erik's clean high vocals on "In Everyday" and "Smoke Rise" features tasty pedal steel guitar. Subtly employing instruments like cello, french horn, violin, and organ, the album skillfully blends a variety of colors

"Pick this one up - it will instantly become a favorite. The songs will grow on you like classics. I've often wondered why I have not heard this talent on the radio. If you enjoy great folk style music (like cat stevens, jim croce, and james taylor), then introduce yourself to Eric Cerame. The music flows like water, and I find myself singing the song in me head as I watch the morning sun rise. A timeless classic masterpiece - your collection is incomplete without this CD."
