Synopsis

Product Description
Samma Sankappa is the third in the Samma series of Music for Meditation by Energi. Timed meditation sessions feature The Heart Sutra Mantra beautifully chanted in Sanskrit by ordained Buddhist Ngakpa, accompanied by traditional Tibetan prayer bells, karatalas cymbals, and gongs. A Sati (mindfulness) bell begins and finishes each session. This especially-designed music aids concentration by creating a calm environment, free from distractions and outside influences. It has been designed to be of special assistance to those who may experience drowsiness during their meditation practice. Samma Sankappa takes its name from the ancient Pali language, and translates as Right Intention or Right Resolve - one of the principle steps of The Noble Eightfold Path, from the Magga-vibhanga Sutta teachings taught by Buddha Shakyamuni - and of great importance to Buddhist practitioners. The chant, or mantra, is the Prajñaparamita mantra - the mantra of the perfection of wisdom. It can be found in The Heart Sutra, which is a teaching on the nature of reality from the Buddha. It is basically an emptiness teaching and the mantra is the essence or pith of the wisdom that understands reality and liberates beings. The mantra is written:
Om Gate Gate
Paragate
Parasamgate
Bodhi Svaha Translated from the Sanskrit it means:
Gone, gone
Gone beyond
Gone completely beyond
Enlightenment! Samma Sankappa is ideal as a meditation timer - each track contains a Sati (Mindfulness) bell at the beginning and the end. Especially designed for walking meditation, as well as sitting practice and meditation preparation, the tracks are designed in three version-lengths for individual meditation requirements - 10-minute, 20-minute and 30-minute...or you can play the whole 60-minutes for an hour-long meditation session or whenever you need an aid to focus the mind.
