Synopsis

Album Description
An immense growth from 1999's MCD, In Mourning's Symphony, INTIMATE PORTRAIT has a great balance of tempos, male and female vocals (both clean and gutteral styles), guitar, violin, keys, etc... This is the band's first official full-length release clocking in just over 56 minutes. INTIMATE PORTRAIT also includes a great cover of Iron Maiden's "Revelations"

(5 out of 5 stars)

"While the concept of Em Sinfonia may seem like a rip-off of bands like Theatre of Tragedy and Sins of thy Beloved, but it is far from it. While Em Sinfonia uses the whole beauty and beast technique, they have their own uniquenesses. While many bands similar to this are very downtrodden and grim, Em Sinfonia is more upbeat and has a much lighter mood. Hey, theres even an Iron Maiden cover! My only complaint is the lack of violins. They are used far too sparingly, and when they are used, they are simply amazing, leaving you wanting more, but being unpleasantly let down. Aside from that one flaw, brilliant album."
