Elomar - The Biggest brazilian composer
Jose Ailton Alencar Andrade | Brasilia, Distrito Federal Brazil | 07/13/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Elomar - singer, popular singer, violinist, viola player, mithycal, mystical, columnist, minstrel, architect and goat breeder. All that adjectives are few to describe Elomar. Elomar discovered a style of music from 16th century which is based in the several cultures that compounded the brazilian one, in addtion, his poetries are written in what he calls "linguagem dialetal sertaneza" - which is brazilan northeastern dialect that comes from portuguese and several laguagens such as african languages, indian, arabian, etc. Such dialect is very difficult to understand. Indeed, only a few brazilians can understand his language. Besides his poetries, his melodies and arrangements are as wonderfull as from famous classical composers. There is nothing similar to Elomar's music in the world. He got put his music between two styles apparently opposite, the popular root music and the erudite music. Elomar left the cities and moved to the brazilian northeast country, a small village where he is goat breeder. He says, he moved to country in order to write all his pieces that are already composed in his mind. He lives in a simple way, composing his operas, antiphonies and poetries. This CD is the first Elomar's CD which was made in 1973. From there to today, He have released several masterpieces. He could release more, but he broke with many recorders and he doesn't have money to record his pieces (independently) which are far much large. As all Elomar's CDs, this is a true masterpiece."
