Synopsis

Product Description
Latin pop duet from Spain Ella Baila Sola started working on their own music in the mid-'80s after producer Gonzalo Benavides heard a demo of a local band called the Just, led by Marta Botía and Marilia Casares, and got in touch with them soon after. Both singers met earlier while studying at Madrid's San Agustín School, sharing their passion for music. Benavides convinced them to start singing in Spanish, changing the band's name at the same time. Ella Baila Sola recorded its first self-titled album in 1996. A year later, the act was awarded at Premios Amigo for Best Spanish Band. After touring all over Spain and reaching important venues around Latin America, Ella Baila Sola released e.b.s. in 1998, getting the hit single "Y Quisiera." Marta & Marilia was issued three years later. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide

CD Reviews

I from Spain

"I love Ella Baila Sola. I'm from Spain and I have the three CD's of EBS, I think that they are the best duo of Spain. I spoke with Marta once and She's lovely. This CD is the best of the three CD's. My favourite song is "Mal Hotel" I wanted to meet people from other sides of the world who like EBS.... Thanks"
A solid effort

"This does not really contain any potential "top 10" hits, but so what? The young duo has put together a solid recording, with some nice ballads and some catchy acoustic rock that steers away from the pits of overdoing it. The opener "claro que nos hace falta hablar" is a good example of what they do best, at parts they remind me of a female version of Duncan Dhu. This is a good rainy day record. While I can't say this is the most original group, I still commend them for a solid disc which really does not have any throw on tracks."
Best ever!

"Our Iberian Sirens have done it again! This new album from E.B.S is fabulous!! The duo have managed to maintain their lyrical excellence, and have included more ballads to their repetoire, steering away slightly from their characteristically "catchy" sound (not that it was bad!). As always their voices harmonize beautifully , which makes their music a pleasure to listen to...even if you don't speak spanish!! The album seems to get better and better as it progress, and finishes with an emotionally arousing "Infinito"...(my favorite!). Surely, many of the songs on this album will go down as some of E.B.S's best work ever, songs like "La Patera", "Calor Que Dar", and "Superviviente", just to name a few. Both the lyrics and music powerfully convey the themes and emotions of these songs! If you are a long-time fan of the duo, this CD is a must-have! If you are new to the Latin Pop/Rock genre, this is the place to start!!!"
