One of the brightest jazz stars to emerge in the last few years is thirty-five-time-award-winning saxophonist Eli Bennett.  He  makes his Addo Records debut with Breakthrough, an inspiring and compelling nine-track album, featuring eight  electrifying originals. Eli grew up as the son of Grammy-nominated & Leo Award-winning film composer Daryl  Bennett, and has gone on to become one of Canadas most recognized and acclaimed emerging saxophonists, performing twice at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, sharing the stage with jazz luminaries such as Oscar Peterson and Hank Jones and being awarded countless honours. Bennett is a two-time recipient of the CBC Galaxie Rising Star  Award (National Jazz Awards), the Fred Sherratt Award (MuisiCounts/BellMedia) and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond  Jubilee Medal.    Eli, a four-time-Leo-Nominated film composer, explains his inspiration for Breakthrough.  This album was inspired by  capturing the breakthrough moment: the moment that occurs when least expected, where the barriers and obstacles  that hold us back are shattered and the ability to achieve the impossible becomes possible.  Breakthrough is all about  fusing my inspiration as a film composer with my journey as jazz artist, bringing the listener on an epic journey through  the highs and lows leading up to achieving a breakthrough, using a backdrop of exhilarating groove-based tunes,  combined with reflective and evocative compositions.   TRACK LISTING: 1.
