(5 out of 5 stars)

"If ever an album had an appropriate title, this new one from Tulsa-based sax man Eldredge Jackson would be it. In a major collaboration with friend and mentor Wayman Tisdale, "El Jack" has put out a CD that has "Hit" written all over it. This release maintains a strong balance throughout between that positive, funky old school vibe we've come to expect from Wayman and a melodic sweetness typified by the beautifully passionate treatment of Lionel Richie's "Hello." Wayman's producing efforts and support (he plays on nine of the album's thirteen tracks) have really brought Mr. Jackson's superb sax work to the forefront. The first radio single, "I Like That" sets the bar extremely high, and the balance of this disc steps right in line. Songs that feel good, that are memorable and lyrical... isn't that what hit music is all about? It's certainly what LISTENING PLEASURE is all about. Eldredge and Wayman have scored a slam-dunk with this one! ~SCOTT O'BRIEN"

"Saw this up-and-coming instrumentalist on tour with Peabo and The Whispers. What a performer! Fantastic smooth and sultry sounds that magically meld contemporary jazz, R'n B and gospel into a groovy mix of originals and covers. Produced by Wayman Tisdale, "Listening Pleasure" is just that: a highly enjoyable disc with sensual melodies that fans of Kenny G, Brian Culbertson, Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum will love. Dig the covers of Lionel's "Hello" and the slow-jam remix of MJ's "Rock With You". The smooth debut of the year!"
