Synopsis

Product Description
EDGEND - A New Identity / UPC : 734923006237 / Cat # NMR-522 / STREET DATE Oct 13th. / Genre - Melodic Power Thrash Metal : Brilliant guitar driven melodic power metal sounding like DIO meets SYMPHONY X, but oh so much more in there with the middle eastern flavors added in, a VERY strong debut with mature songwriting, and some extremely tasty technical prowess showing without over the top pyrotechnics. The bands vocalist has a masculine ruff edge and creates beautiful melodies and memorable chorus lines that draw the listener in again and again. Edgends debut *A New Identity* will surely solidify this bands place in metal history as an extremely solid start, already awaiting their next one. Metal fans, this one will surprise you, don't overlook it or you will regret it!

CD Reviews

Another Great New Band

"After picking up the great Myrath "Desert Call" CD on Nightmare I figured I'd give the Edgend a shot and boy I'm glad I did.

I give this 4 1/2 stars by the way.

These guys pack a serious punch and if I had to compare them to any band the closest comparisions would be the mighty Symphony X and DGM the Italian prog metal band because of the cool interplay between the guitars and the keys. The vocalist has a very strong voice much in the mid register of Russell Allen which I prefer over the high pitched Kirske copycats. The other thing is the nice crunchy guitars and the smokin' solo's that rip in every song that bring to mind Michael Romeo. For a debut album this shows a lot of promise and I for one can't wait for their next release...it not worth picking favorite songs as the album flows nicely together...maybe next time they could add a slow burner in the massive onslaught but that's a very minor complaint. If you like powerful crunchy metal by talented musicians...and like Symphony X or DGM I'm sure you'll like this CD..."
I was blown away by this Nightmare Records release

"Again Lance King has scored a homerun with the signing of Israeli Progressive/Power metal band Edgend. Their newest cd A New Identity is really awesome, and straight-forward Progressive metal. These five guys from Tel Avi can really lay down some facemelting, mind numbing music, and really get you wanting more. This cd was one of the biggest seller's for Nightmare Records at last year's ProgPower USA festival in Atlanta Ga.

Being a huge fan of Progressive and power metal I was really surprised to hear this Cd came from a band from Israel, it seems there are alot of up and coming metal bands coming out of the Middle East and North Africa region. But Edgend will be leading the pack along with Tunsian band MYRATH, If you are a fan of Myrath and SymphonyX then Edgend is right up your alley. This is a must buy for all Progressive/Power metal fans Two thumbs up to Lance and Nightmare Records."
