Synopsis

Album Description
Eden's Journal delivers a much needed high energy infusion of heart and soul into the Americana / Adult Alternative genres. Their self titled, debut CD - Produced by Grammy Nominee, Geza X (of Meredith Brooks "Bitch" fame) - is driven by powerful, accomplished musicianship with lyrics that hit a bulls-eye long reserved for the intelligent folk set. With devastatingly honest and soaring vocals supplied by lead singer, Kenny Rudolph, the urgency and depth of Eden's Journal's music and message turns the whole genre game on its ear and spits out a daringly original and fresh pop sound.

CD Reviews

Colorado fan gives HUGE thumbs up!

"A friend in Oregon turned me on to this Detroit group (never seen them live) and I'm hooked! This CD is worth every penny and delivers the best that music can offer- GREAT songs, great lyrics, fantastic vocals (lead singer is awesome!) and instantly puts me in a good mood. (Although track #5 and #12 are such heart tugging stories they cause a lump in my throat every time.) The band has a website, but it hasn't been updated since the holidays. If you want comparisons: Think Matchbox 20, but smarter, think Dave Matthews but more "pop", think...Think about buying this CD- and do it!"
Hidden gem!

"Saw this band live last year and bought the CD at the show. Can honestly say that I have not stopped playing it since. Not a bad song in the bunch! (There are 12) Hoping to find a new one from them, soon. There is an honesty and engaging quality in the vocals that reminds me of my favorite singers, (Think sexy James Taylor with more of a rock feel. Well done, Kenny!) and an energy live that still makes me smile. Lyrics are so refreshingly "smart" that I seem to find new phrases that give me goosebumps with each listen. THese guys did their homework and are sexy smart! "caught Between Love and You" is my favorite, "Millenium Approaching" and "Tonite" are two of the most beautiful songs guaranteed to change your mood, but - like their live show - this band really let's it all hang out when the faster beat takes over: Check out "everybodyWants" and "Searching" and try NOT to like them. Thought I'd give my two cents and hope that I'm not the only one waiting for another collection of tunes from my new favorite band. Well worth the investment. WARNING: You will neglect the rest of your CD collection if you buy this disc! Keep up the good work, guys!"
Christian Rock

"This disc was put together by some very talented musicians, however, the final product is so slick and it seems to lack anything original. I review music for a paper in Arizona and while listening to this disc; my wife came in and asked me why I was listening to Christian Rock. Not the best endorsement. Neither is "sounds like it was made for a TV movie." I don't throw the tunes from the Joey Budafuco story on my system on a daily basis. I think this band would be best-suited opening for the next boy band that comes from Disney World. Again the musicianship is great but the lyrics are nothing but recycled John Melencamp cliché's. Very disappointing that Pat, Doug and Doc would hook up with a guy like Kenny who obviously has never had a hard day in his life or if he has is not wise enough to write about it. Do not waste your time with this disc.According to their press materials some of these guys have tasted success in popular music in the past but now they want to do it "their way". Well their way is turning out music a decade or 2 too late. This is better suited for the early 80's. If they plan on being successful they may actually want to check out what's going on in popular music today."
