"Want to know more about his song called- This can't be true! Where can it be purchased?"
'70s soul music at its best ! ! !

"So yeah, maybe "Hey There, Lonely Girl" was a one hit wonder... but how many people even get to have ONE #2 hit song, and one that's still an internationally recognizable soul music anthem even 30 years later ??? - - The fact is that this album is a solid effort from track to track... Interestingly, most of the tunes are not sung in in Holman's trademark falsetto voice from Lonely Girl, but rather a powerful mid-range... In some ways he reminds me of Lenny Williams from Tower of Power. - - Though "lonely Girl" will obviously be the most recognizable track to most listeners, in my opinion its on the sizzling minor key Soul ballads that Holman really shines and gets to demonstrate the exceptional versatility and powerfulness of his voice... While Lonely Girl represents him as a very good soul singer with a great hit, its the other tracks that demonstrate his true abilities as a MASTER soul singer - - This is a wonderfully produced, arranged and orchestrated early '70s soul album... Peter DeAngelis's arrangements take the entire record to an entire new level. Recorded in my hometown of Philly at the peak of the Gamble Huff/Philly Soul thing, Holman presents himself as a superstar who for whatever reason or another just didn't really take off... though relegated to one hit wonder status, a serious listen to this album makes one wonder what could have been if Venus and Mercury were in a slightly different allignemnt !"

"I grew up listening to Eddie Holman. He was one of my grandmother's favorites and has become one of mine. "Hey lonely girl" is a great song, but he also deserves credit for, "Four Walls", "I Love You" and countless others. I have my grandmother's album, however over the years it has lost alot of sound quality. I would like to purchase the cd but $90.00 is a little steep for me. Can it be found at a cheaper price?"
