Synopsis

Album Description
EMI PRESENTS........THE GREAT BIG SCOTTISH SONGBOOK EMI has a rich heritage in supporting both contemporary and traditional Scottish music which still continues to this day. The Great Big Scottish Songbook is a selection of the very best of this music and contains over 100 tracks from music hall to post millenium pop. As well as featuring many of EMI's UK hit singles by well known Scottish contemporary artists such as The Simple Minds, Gerry Rafferty and KT Tunstall, the album also contains versions of many of Scotland's best loved songs including Loch Lomond, Sky Boat Song and Flower of Scotland. In addition there is a few `hidden gems' by the likes of Blue Nile, Midge Ure and even The Lone Piper! The great Big Scottish Songbook is probably the biggest and most definitive list ever compiled on one album of classic Scottish songs and great Scottish artists, many of whom featured on Radio Clyde's recent listeners poll to find the most popular Scottish acts of all time. The album will be released in time for Fathers Day on 12th June and will be backed by a heavyweight marketing campaign which will continue throughout the Scottish summer tourist season. It is destined to become THE Scottish album!
