Product Description
Available again and has been re-mastered! So how does "Tulsa" stand up to the rest of Twilley's musical legacy? It stands tall and proud. It is not without flaws, but it is worthy of being heard by more people than his past works. Begun in April of 1998 in his home recording studio, Dwight used his stage band at the time to flesh out these songs. The fact that they have played live before comes through, as the arrangements are tight and to the point, with not a lot of filler or wasted space. Even a song such as "A Little Less Love," with its borderline sappy, but sadly true sentiment, sticks with you because of the well written lyrics, strong melody and Dwight's trademark counterpoint vocals. In fact, it is those vocals that make Dwight stand out from the pop crowd. Yep, near 'Boston'-like time between new albums for our Dwight - but he did a MUCH better job in the interim! Mr. T sounds as great as he ever did; his now classic sound is nailed down effortlessly! I must admit to some worry as to how Dwight would sound after such a long hiatus; and without his singing partner Ms. Cowsill, would the 'sound' still be there? I needn't have worried. The shame here is that a major label couldn't see fit to release this great power pop confection. Dwight hasn't lost his ability to conjure up a heartfelt ballad or a kickin' rocker. Thanks Dwight - but let's not take so long between releases next time, 'kay?

"The Tulsa kid has left the carreer deadening environs of L.A. and gone home to Oklahoma to regroup with some of his original Twilley Band cohorts to produce his first record in nearly a decade. The result: hey now, moon and stars! This is vintage Twilley tunefulness with a new found sense of purpose. There's not a bad cut on this CD, but the highlights for me are the title cut (which is actually quite moving in it's evocation of home),"A Little Less Love", and "Miranda". Fans of honest, mature ,and downright fun rock n' roll here's your guy!Let's hope Dwight's creative reawakening stirs some magor label interest. He deserves it and his fans deserve it too.All in all this is a wonderful return to form, and somewhere, Dwight's old running buddy Phil Seymour is smiling. Me too."

"Every song is a gem. Very melodic with that great Twilley voice. If you like the Beatles, you won't be disappointed here! A must!!"
