Stunningly Beautiful Music

"Joe Pass and John Pisano had been playing together for over 30 years when they recorded this album, towards the end of Joe's life. While their previous work together had always created some incredible music and some of the best jazz of its period, "Duet's" is their most personal, beautiful album by far.

Fans of great music should not miss this album: it contains some of the most beautiful music ever recorded. Their playing encompasses the whole history of jazz guitar: you can hear the lineage back to Eddie Lang and Lonnie Johnson, and Django and Joseph Reinhardt. But it's also a very modern album. Fans of Michael Hedges and modern acoustic music would very much enjoy it. Some of the music, like "Nina's Birthday Song" simply defies description.

Joe and John play as though they are connected in mind, soul and body: they are the perfect duet partners. You can hear their friendship in this music, and it's a beautiful thing. Strongly recommended for any fans of jazz, acoustic music, or great guitar playing.
