Du Caurroy's compositions here have a calm, glassy surface, like a pond that first seems only to reflect the sky, but on second look reveals a subtle interior world of dimensionality and life. The boy trebles of the Choir of New College sometimes swoop when shifting registers. But this is small complaint, given their stunning, bell-like tone. The choir sings with immense artistry and musicality, giving this performance just the mixture of intensity and reserve to bring this music to life."
