CD Reviews

Unbelieveable!

"I hope this is either a re-release of what I heard them play live in Berkeley OR a totally new blast from these two great soul-satisfying musicians! Either way, gotta buy it! Can't believe that kind of voice can emanate from a tiny chick like jan fanucci, but it does, man, it does! Listen and learn!"
Best unknown female blues singer there is!

"Jan Fanucci belts the blues, croons the blues, growls the blues. The girl can flat sing. Hamblin & Fanucci used make the NW circuit about a decade ago and I thought they had dropped out of sight, but it's great to see them put out a side that includes many of their fan's favorite tunes.Jan might have the most powerful, emotive, emotional female blues voice since Janis Joplin and I know of what I speak, because I saw Janis, too. And it's a comparison not hastily made.Doug Hamblin's a more-than-able guitarist and provides solid backing to Jan's vocals. They obviously have worked together for a long time and it shows. They always put on a rousing show whenever I saw them.In this day and age of cheesy, too-cute-for-you pop groups and acts, of rappers who don't even sing and sample much of their material, where style trumps substance, it's important to recognize that there are still real musicians out there, playing their music, honestly -- and for not nearly the compensation for their contribution. Hamblin & Fanucci are two such artists.Buy this CD if you dig the blues and support two outstanding musicians. There's no way will you be disappointed."
Yikes!

"Absolutely awesome treatment of the Blues! A must have album.

But at $39.99? Way Ouch! These tracks are all available on Rhapsody @ 75 cents a pop! Do the Math!"
