CD Reviews

If they are good enough for Homer Simpson........
R. Gonzales | Denver, CO United States | 02/24/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"You pretty much get what you expect when you listen to this record, typical choir group of the time, having a load of fun singing popular songs of the day. They're good but I admit they do sound like so many of their peers....So why the five stars? well first off there are a few standouts on this album. The Rhythm of Life, from Sweet Charity, they actually do a really great job on this one, its sooooo FAST! Daydreamer, a cool dreamy song that I remember from a Rankin/Bass cartoon that you cant really find done by anyone...anywhere!! Wait til you see her, is just sung superbly! and Come Love, A sunshine pop song only second to the version by Harper's Bizarre. And lastly im a stickler for detail and I love the CD label which looks like the original Epic LP and that they took the time to include not only the STEREO version but follow it with the MONO version of the record!! Which pretty much brings us back to the title of this review, In an episode of the Simpsons, while Homer is flipping through both his and Marge's album collection we discover that he owns at least one album by the doodles,(along with long players by glen campbell and jim nabors)Nuff Said...five stars!"
