Synopsis

Product Description
Boston's legendary DOGMATICS return with their first recording of brand new music in over 30 years. The sound and sight of the Dogmatics was consummate, raucous rock and roll three minute spurts of high energy garage slop-pop played by possessed rubber faced hooligans with manic fervor. Imagine Eddie Cochran meets Johnny Thunders, the Ramones, and early Replacements at a keg party hootenanny and you'll get it. When listening to the true heart of Rock and Roll music, not much has changed since 1986. Striped down, four to the floor, dual guitars, bass and drums, amplifiers stacked up in the garage, a string of empty bud bottles, and hooks that'll stick to you like crazy glue. Akin to fellow peers and bands they have shared the stage with through the mid-late 80's The Replacements, The Del Fuegos, Dash Rip Rock, The Bangles, Hoodoo Gurus, Dinosaur Jr., Los Lobos, and Scruffy the Cat to name a few, Jerry, Peter, Jimmy, and Tom have delivered a bold statement, they are back and here to stay. Lead single and title track "She's the one" is a thoroughbred, pub rock foot stomper and head shaker that Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe would have found right at home on Rockpile's only full length release. The farfisa fueled, garage rock echoes of "I Love Rock and Roll" (cliche as it may seem it's a song about love for rock from the 50's, 60's, 70's up until now), and the Celtic backbone of "The Ballad of Wilbur Ross" round out this highly anticipated, long overdue release. CD comes with 2 bonus tracks including a cover of Unnatural Axe's "Summertime" which feels and sounds like a thundering, long lost Alejandro Escovedo gem. The Dogmatics are having so much fun playing and actually discovering music again at its root. We hope you will too when you put the needle on the record and crank this up today.
