Wonderful blend of new-age and world music. I love to massage, do yoga, or relax to it.
At times, this music soars
(5 out of 5 stars)
"World Dance and Companions of the Crimson Colored Ark are my two favorite Do'ah albums, and they certainly show the evolution of the group over the years they were together. Do'ah's music is hard to pigeon hole; bright and optimistic, it is less New Age than it is original Global Music, with clear influences of Jazz, pop, and classical. That much said, this is music for people who enjoy music, meaning people who are open to many different musical styles and forms. It is certainly more inventive than most of what passes as pop music, and is far more "classical" in structure than much of New Age. World Dance is not consistent in musical quality (the last song lacks the invention of the previous works), but when it is at its best, it soars, touching some very deep emotional chords (when the voices start singing in "Night Season," you feel the impulse to sing along with them in what can only be called a form of primeval prayer). Bottom line: if you're looking for something new, and can appreciate heartfelt, imaginative, melodic, and extremely positive music, you should do yourself a favor and listen to World Dance."
