Decent melodic rock from Canada

"Released in 1991, Hard as a Rock was the first (and only) album from Canadian rockers Dirty Rhythm. Canada was a major source of quality melodic rock bands in the 80's and early 90's, serving up bands like Loverboy, Honeymoon Suite, Blue Tears, and Von Groove. Unfortunately, Dirty Rhythm wasn't quite at that same level of quality.
Hard as a Rock is a pretty standard melodic rock album, the kind you'd have considered hair metal at the time. It follows the basic "party anthems and power ballads" formula and the lyrics don't stray too far from the topic of girls, girls, and well, girls. I'd file Hard as a Rock in the same category as albums by Slaughter, Firehouse, Jet Red, and Big House. It's perfectly decent, but perfectly forgettable. It's the kind of album that will get played once for every 20 times I spin the first Tyketto or Von Groove album.
Unless you grew up partying to this album, I can't see any reason to go out of your way to track it down. If you're a major 80's rock fan and you run across a copy for a few bucks, it's probably worth adding to your collection.
