"Dionne Warwick's "Classic Song Book" brings together 22 of the great vocalist's hits. These songs span the years 1963-1970, and include such beloved classics as "I Say a Little Prayer," "The Look of Love," and "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head." A majority of the songs were co-written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, two of the true giants of modern pop music.I wasn't even born when this string of marvelous hits began to be produced, and yet I find that the music in this wonderful collection really moves me. And I never repress my urge to sing along! Warwick is a master vocal stylist, and she brings passion, playfulness, and impeccable style to her interpretations. Many of these songs have been remade by other artists. A number of them have, in particular, been included in the popular "Austin Powers" movies in the late 1990s. But Warwick's performances have a truly timeless feel to them; I imagine that we will be listening to--and loving--her versions of these songs for many decades to come."
