El Encuentro (The Encounter) reveals new aspects of master bandoneon-player and composer Dino Salzuzi's boundless creativity. The album features new orchestarl music with outstanding soloists - Dino himself, cellist Anja Lechner (a frequent collaborator), and Dino's borther Felix Saluzzi on saxophone. The flowing music, with strings shadowing the movment of the bandoneon extends the spirit of Dino's storytelling solo works. This is Saluzzi's first live album for ECM, recorded in Amsterdam with Holland's vibrant Metropole Orchestra and their gifted young conductor.
